Architecture boat trip through Rotterdam

2007 was the year of architecture in Rotterdam. Because of that party ship “Jorina” developed a boat trip, at which you will be introduced to the variety of architecture in Rotterdam. Because of the overwhelming succes of these trips, we have enclosed this into our services.

From the water you will have a special opportunity to discover and admire the old and the new of the city of Rotterdam.

During this boat trip a multilingual guide will inform you about the architecture of Rotterdam and also about the Rotterdam harbour.

This architecture boat trip will be combined with a lunch or a dinner as a buffet.
The departure will be from the berth of the “Jorina” at the Leuvehaven.

We navigate along the Maritiem Museum in the direction of the van Brienenoordbrug, by way of the Noordereiland.

In this part of the trip we go along the Unilever building along Kralingen/ De Esch-Watertoren and Feijenoord. On the way back you will have a tremendous view of the skyline of Rotterdam on which architects like Cees Dam, Renzo Piano and Sir Norman Foster had a large influence. We will navigate along De Kop van Zuid.

Then we will navigate along Hotel New York. This was the former head office and the embarking and disembarking place of the Holland America Line. The next location we will navigate to is the Rijnhaven where the new Luxor Theater is located.

After the Rijnhaven we will cross the river De Maas and will navigate along the Parkkade,
Parkhaven, Euromast, Muller-Pier and the Lloydkade. Here we pass the modern Scheepvaart en Transport College.

We will also pass the shipbuilding yard “De Delft” where a replica of a former ship from the VOC era is being built. We will pass the beautiful Delfshaven, het Schiedamse Hoofd and the modern building of Mammoet. Finally we will navigate back by way of the Waalhaven to the Leuvehaven.

The duration of this boat trip is three hours but it is always possible to prolong it.

The trip can also be combined with a visit to the shipbuilding yard De Delft. Here you will get a tour through the yard, a movie and a visit to different workshops.
This visit takes about one hour while the “Jorina” will wait for you at the pier.
The costs of this excursion are € 5.00 a person based on a minimum of 15 persons.

This architecture boat trip will offer you a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the rich architecture of the city of Rotterdam; from the water you can enjoy the tranquillity and space which can’t be found in the city. When the weather is nice you can enjoy your trip on the upper deck of the “Jorina”.
The costs based on a three hour trip in combination with a lunch are € 39,50 a person. This is based on 50 persons including all alcohol free drinks. A compensation for the guide and the host are also included.
The costs in combination with a dinner are from € 59,50 a person depending on the kind of dinner you would like to have. This includes also the alcohol free drinks. The choice for the dinner is in deliberation with us. For the lunch you will have the choice out of 2 different kinds.

As an extra service we offer you the opportunity to combine your boat trip with an overnight stay in well known hotels in Rotterdam.
